For the love of exploration, we walk into the busy grounds of Roxas Boulevard, Luneta Park and Intramuros. This happens for 5-days of which attending a seminar in the morning and 5-days of exploring Manila in the afternoon (5 PM-onward). This is a part of the 5-Days Manila Challenge.
I was so early for my seminar which is quite a surprise to me. The bus is not full with cramming passengers and I am comfortably seated in a train (LRT) that morning but then again when I check at my phone and see the date, it was (March 9) a national holiday and most have their holiday break. How I wish everyday would be like that morning… And since I arrived 1-hour early, I decided to pass by Luneta Park and take some good pictures and have an exercise (walking). Check out what I did that morning:
Why people keep on coming to Luneta Park?
For couples, this is a great place for a long walk and long talk. Talking to someone you love, holding hands, enjoying the sunshine… Quality time together makes a relationship last longer.
For Nature-lovers, aside from the view of the park, its landscapes, gardens, horse-carriage, there are also 5-10 house for doves and pigeons. It was fun to watch them flying around and hearing their unique sound.
Here is a native house that can be seen in the park premises. I am not quite sure if it’s an office or a house though. But definitely, it is beautiful. Some of the people take pictures of it as well and pose in front of it. As the old saying goes, “take nothing but pictures.”
For people who enjoy history, they will love those statues found both sides of the central fountain. Their names were engrave in a metal plate and several information written on it about the hero or figure. It was fun reading and remembering the good works of our forefathers.
For those who seems to love to capture photos, you will definitely enjoy this park. There are lots of renovations and landscaping done by the City of Manila local government to bring it back to life and regain its glorious days.
For sports enthusiastic, the park is home to various matial arts groups. Every morning, especially on Sundays, Kali, Wushu, other practitioners can be seen at the Luneta. Various physical fitness groups doing aerobics here can also be seen on weekends. It was Tuesday and here is a group Tsinoy doing their arts.
Whatever type of person you are, you can definitely enjoy Luneta Park and the things it can offer to you. Simply drop by and see it, too.
